Opening ceremony for Aboriginal Education Month starts with a birthing of a canoe ceremony.

Watch the video to see what you missed!

A traditional canoe birthing ceremony marked the beginning of Aboriginal Education Month at Humber College. The Humber Arboretum was home to the event, which featured native dancers, singers, drummers and artists.

Pow Wow on Campus

Humber College celebrated the end of Aboriginal Education Month with its third annual Powwow. The event included performances by aboriginal dancers, drummers and singers, along with Aboriginal artwork displays.

The Powwow, held annually, provides Humber's aboriginal students and community with an opportunity to celebrate and share their culture in an authentic way.

β€œIt was truly special to see a Pow Wow on campus. At my high school we had several of them each year, so it brought back a lot of memories of living up in Northwestern Ontario.”
