Do you have to be Aboriginal to utilize Aboriginal Student Services?
No, everyone from all cultural backgrounds and beliefs are welcome to learn about First Nation people’s history, culture, and traditions.

How many students of Aboriginal background are at Humber?
Humber as a whole has approximately 400 students who have self-identified themselves as Aboriginal.

What does "Aboriginal" mean?
Aboriginal means that someone is a descendant of the original people of Canada. This includes Status and Non-Status First Nation, Inuit, and Métis people.

Where is the Aboriginal Services Office?
Our office is located in Student Success and Engagement in D149, North Campus. This is where you can also find the Elder Advisor, Shelley Charles and Aboriginal Liaison Officer Jonathon Araujo.

What Elder services are available?
Shelley Charles can help you with personal guidance and reflection, cultural and historical information, community engagement and connection, spiritual and indigenous healing, as well as referrals to other student services.
