Skilled trades play an important role in our economy and Canada currently faces a critical shortage of skilled workers. Skilled tradespeople will be increasingly in demand because of the rapid pace of technological changes and as current workers in the field begin to retire. There are many opportunities for advancement within this career path from supervisory to management positions, to owning your own business. Apprenticeships offer students an opportunity to learn a highly skilled trade in a variety of occupations. Humber provides the required components towards an apprenticeship including technical theory, practical job experience and in-school training. Students learn valuable skills by using the latest industry software programs and working in fully equipped up-to-date labs and shops. At Humber, skilled instructors highlight current trends within the industry and strive to duplicate situations that apprentices and skilled tradespeople will see in their everyday working life.

Apprenticeship Trade Exemption Testing is available at the Centre for Trades and Technology (110 Carrier Drive, Toronto). Humber College administers apprenticeship exemption exams for a fee of $150 per exam. Payment is accepted by: Visa, Debit Card, MasterCard. Please note: Personal cheques are not accepted.
