Humber's two-year Computer and Network Support Technician program will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to become a support technician in a computer and networking environment. You will begin by gaining a working knowledge of electronics and computer networking, while becoming familiar with PC hardware and operating systems. Later, you will delve deeper into networking by working hands-on using various hardware platforms, protocols and servers. A strong emphasis will be placed on network security. Throughout the program, you will develop essential customer service, interpersonal communications and teamwork skills through group work and projects.

The two-year Computer and Network Support Technician program will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need in order to become a support technician in a networked environment. You will learn all about electronics, computer networking, and the software and hardware that make up different computer systems and networks.
Employers will appreciate your well-developed customer service and interpersonal communications skills, acquired through group work in our hands-on networking labs.
As a graduate of the Computer & Network Support Technician program, you may expect to find work in the following areas: network support technician, computer systems support, systems support technician, PC (hardware/software) technical support, web site support technician, technical support, user support technician, Internet support, infrastructure support technician.
Firms in Canada's information and communications technology (ICT) are creating new business establishments, manufacturing plants for example, at a rate of entry 40 percentage points above the business sector overall. Find opportunities with large and small organizations. Your tasks could include installing application software, training others and integrating applications with computer systems. Work as a member of a team to analyze, setup, install, upgrade, maintain application systems and security, and troubleshoot computer networks.
Half of class time for students is spent on dedicated computer and network labs.
