If predictions are right, there will be more technological advancement in the next four to five decades than in the past 450 years. Embrace that future as an automation and robotics technician in such areas as component testing programs, system installation, technical services, technical sales, and in-plant maintenance programs. Automation systems integrators are needed to build, troubleshoot, and maintain robotic and automated manufacturing cells, as well as the mining sector. You will also find opportunities in purchasing, customer service, and quality control and quality-assurance programs.
The focus of this post-secondary program is to help you prepare for a career in the highly demanding technical field of automation and robotics. The course content is industry driven and thoroughly up-to-date.
Training combines practical in-shop projects on industrial size equipment and theoretical in-class lectures. You learn to use your problem-solving abilities and initiative to achieve your objectives. Work independently and as part of a team. We have a high co-op and graduate placement rate.
High demand for graduates of this program who found work in the field before and within three months of graduation. Automation and Robotics graduates work in a variety of industries that require multi-skills including:
This program offers the latest in automation and robotics. Students are trained on modern robots (Fanuc, Motoman, Kuka, Wittman, Panasonic) and do automation welding on a state-of-the-art Panasonic welding robot.
Students gain hands-on experience with leading edge technologies. Our labs include an extensive range of modern industrial robots and control systems.
