
Karen White B.A (hons.), M.A., Dip. Int. Des., ARIDO
Karen R. White is a graduate both of Queen’s University, where she earned a B.A. (honours) in art and architectural history, and York University, where she earned a M.A. with research thesis in Canadian architectural history. She has had extensive work experience with public art galleries in exhibition coordination and staging. In addition, she has curated temporary exhibitions, such as a major retrospective exhibition on Canadian furniture designer Donald L. McKinley (2000), and has published exhibition reviews and catalogues on contemporary art and design. After completing a diploma in Interior Design at Humber College, Karen designed corporate interiors with the Montreal-based consultancy Innova Design. In 2004, she joined the Humber faculty as a part-time adjunct professor and has taught in both the Industrial Design and Interior Design departments. Current research interests include History of the Designed Environment, Interdisciplinary Design Practice, and Theories of Design.
