
Mike Crompton - R.A.F.
Educated at the Royal Air Force College in England. Graduated from a three year airborne electronic engineering technologist course. (Equivalent to U.K. Higher National Certificate). Emigrated to Canada and spent 13 years in the aerospace industry involved in manufacturing Inertial Navigation Systems, Cockpit LED displays and Radar.
Joined Humber College Queensway Campus as a teacher of Electronics, Mechanics and Optics in 1978. Was assigned to work on international projects set up between the college and the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC). Sent to Kenya for two years, the Caribbean for six months, and then a further two years in Africa. Taught at the Keelesdale Campus, and later transferred to the North Campus and taught in the Electronics, Computer Engineering and Apprenticeship departments.
