This is a hands-on program which provides students with the knowledge and skills required to construct cabinets and fine furniture using recognized trade practices. Students are expected to complete a number of designated projects involving various types of woodworking joints, techniques and processes. Upon completion of this program you will be able to produce simple shop drawings, make material calculations, machine, assemble and finish a cabinet or piece of fine furniture. Courses also focus on: communication, computer, business, critical thinking, problem solving, applied mathematics and geometry, and interpersonal/teamwork skills.
IMPORTANT DATES: This diploma program offers two start dates of September orJanuary. This program consists of three consectutive 15 week semesters. Students graduate in under a year. Industrial Woodworking runs 8 am 12:30 pm Monday to Friday. There are additional classes in the afternoon.

Graduates can gain employment building store fixtures, architectural millwork, furniture construction and the kitchen cabinet industry.
Students spend the majority of their time in our newly constructed 10,000 square foot woodworking lab. Within the lab there is a bench area for assembly and also kitchen cabinet installation area. All common woodworking machines are available for student use as well as a hydraulic veneer press, two computerized (CNC) routers and a vacuum pressing area for curved forms and veneering. A dedicated electronic classroom is available for lectures.
