

The Supply Chain Management program at Humber College provides an excellent foundation for students to fast track into the industry. The curriculum very accurately reflects the realities of applied supply chain management. The instructors are both knowledgeable about the industry and caring about students' grasp of the subject. In consumer product goods supply chain costs represent 32 per cent of the total manufacturing costs in Canada. Rapid developments in supply chain technology and practices are creating great demand for workers with up-to-date skills and knowledge in such diverse industries as consumer packaged goods, pharmaceutical products, service businesses, manufacturing, high tech, automotive, retail, and transportation. Work as an analyst, manager, or specialist in such departments as: Purchasing/Procurement, Ware-housing, Transportation, Production/Quality, Logistics, International Trade, and Planning. Graduates often find themselves in middle-management positions within five to seven years of graduation.
Employers of recent graduates include Canadian Tire Corporation, UPS, Ford, IBM, HP, Xerox, Suncor, Johnson & Johnson, Wal-Mart, Loblaw, Sobeys, Shoppers Drug Mart, Nestle, Progistix Solutions, Kellogs, Walmart and Assured Logistics.
Students in this program use Microsoft applications Excel and MapPoint. We also do on-site visits to many industries to see best practices in supply chain management.
