The 18,000 sq. ft. Centre for Justice Leadership (6,700 sq. ft. of which was built-out using KIP funding) features six new specialized studios. The Crime Scene Simulation Studio is a 65-seat lecture theatre built around a one-bedroom apartment where students will learn how to collect evidence from crime scenes. In the Forensic Studio, students will learn evidence processing techniques. There are four Interviewing Rooms where students can practice counselling and interviewing skills. The Centre boasts state-of-the-art electronics. Faculty are in place, classes begin January 2010.
The new centre supports programs in Police Foundations, Community & Justice Services, Child and Youth Worker, Social Services Worker, Developmental Services Worker and the new bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.
