People Bingo

People Bingo!

Props/Prep: Yes
Time: 20 min
Audience: Any
Physical: Yes

Activity: The goal is to fill in all the content squares with signatures of people in the room. This exercise can be used in many different settings, classrooms and training programs. It is designed to help facilitate groups of people getting to know each other and interacting. A great activity to use with a group of people who do not know each other or to use with a class group to review content (replace people categories in the squares with topic content).

Time Requirements: 20 minutes, varies depending on the content of the bingo card and how many people are playing the game.

Materials needed: One game sheet per person – on card stock (see example)

Procedure:

  • Hand out a game sheet to each participant. When you give the signal, have the participants circulate around the room collecting signatures of people who can sign for each box. Depending on how many participants you have, you may make a rule about only signing for one item on a page.
  • Call time when the first person has completed the game sheet.
  • Give a prize for your first place winner.
  • Debrief game: ask the group if they discovered anything new about the other participants or content on the game sheet.

Function in Class:
Icebreaker, get-to-know-you activity, content review activity.
