Tests and exams have always been a way for educators to quickly assess if learning is taking place.  While there will always be a purpose for tests and exams, CTL encourages faculty to find alternative assessment strategies, especially those that promote deep learning.

Creating effective test questions is critical and will allow the assessor to gain insightful, meaningful information on how, if at all, the learning is being consolidated by the student.  Please review some of our resources to help you create valid test questions.

Please contact CTL for one-on-one consultation regarding the best evaluation strategies for your course.
