This course prepares students for the advertising workplace. Emphasis will be placed on interpersonal skills and critical thinking skills needed in the competitive field of advertising. To better prepare students for an advertising career, theoretical concepts of management and leadership styles, corporate culture and performance management theories and strategies will be covered. Theories presented in this course include an advertising context. Students will have the opportunity to apply theory through participative and practical exercises. Practical approaches such as resume writing, job search skills and interviewing techniques will be applied. Guest speakers from the advertising industry will emphasize employer expectations and current and future trends in the profession. This course builds on the theoretical principles developed through semesters one through six, by specifically demonstrating students knowledge and skills to potential employers.
