This course, followed by Canadian Securities 2, is meant to assist students in preparing for investment and/or financial planning careers in the financial services industry. On completion of each course, students will be eligible to sit an examination set by the Canadian Securities Institute for licensing purposes.
In this first course, students will come to understand the various financial markets, and become familiar with corporations and their financial structures. Further, they will analyze and interpret corporate financial statements and data, distinguish between debt and equity instruments and their financing methods.
