Academic Writing

GCOM 100 emphasizes essential elements of the reading and writing process. Students practice reading and writing skills that are valuable in their college programs and in professional communication. To help students reach these goals, the course covers the following: critical reading and thinking; paraphrasing and summarizing; the writing process; critical response; persuasive writing; revision; grammar and mechanics; and documentation.
