This course introduces students to the challenges of drawing the human form. The goals of life drawing are examined and methods for attaining these goals are demonstrated, via instructor led tutorials. Students study the process of linear simplification as it applies to the human form and learn to apply this knowledge to drawing. Special emphasis will be given to capturing proportion, structure and gesture. Using models of both genders, the students apply lessons in anatomy to the figure and expand their understanding of human proportion and structure.
