Manufacturing is the process by which materials are converted into products in the most efficient manner. This course provides an introductory survey of the manufacturing processes most commonly used by today?s industries. Students will develop an appreciation for modern manufacturing processes, their capabilities and limitations, and the materials to which they apply. The course will expose students to modern and traditional manufacturing industries, as well as assignments will introduce various manufacturing processes in the context of how they can be applied to a common manufacturing example. As a result the assignments will form an integrated project that provides an in-depth look at how manufacturing processes build on each other.
