Course Description

This course introduces students to the elements and principles of planning, design and the technologies at the core of Flash 8. Through class discussions, critique of existing projects and use of the application, students will learn how to conceptualize present information, test usability, plan the navigation and choose the appropriate technology for projects ranging from simple animations to interactive rich media sites. This course defines and explains the concepts and skills essential to the design and development of creative, effective multimedia applications. The unique contribution and interrelationship of the constituent elements - text, typography, graphics, audio, video, animation and interactivity - are identified and explored. Issues of production management and the user experience in the area of multimedia productions will also be presented.
