This course teaches basic photography and digital imaging as it is practiced in journalism and will enable the student to assess, evaluate conditions and capture images for print and online publication. Emphasis will be placed on image-capture skills required for news-related images that are properly exposed, dramatic, well-composed and original with strict attention to deadlines. Students will also develop skills in critical analysis and awareness of their roles as professionals and world citizens.
