Course Description
This course covers the fundamentals of statics as a preparation for more advanced courses in strengths of materials, and structural analysis and design. The course covers the basic concepts of components of forces, resultants, conditions of equilibrium, forces in trusses, shear force and bending moment diagrams, friction, and calculation of centroids. The emphasis of the course is on the mastery of the basic principles through the problem-solving method.
