Clinical Placement 2

The emphasis of Clinical Placement 2 is on TCM diagnosis and acupuncture treatment. Students learn to apply knowledge, skills and critical thinking to the practice of acupuncture. Students will practice clean needling procedure and measures of acupuncture risk management following the acupuncture safety guidelines. When in direct patient contact, students will practice making a TCM diagnosis based on the meridian system; they will locate acupuncture points, compose acupuncture formulas, and perform various acupuncture techniques on patients. At the end of the practicum, students must successfully demonstrate the knowledge and skills required for practicing acupuncture independently.
