The purpose of this course is to provide students with a clear understanding of the theoretical underpinnings of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, as well as practical training and demonstration of cognitive behavioural techniques. This will be a hands-on class with students expected to participate in role plays, mock therapy sessions, and to practice CBT techniques on themselves. Case conceptualization and treatment planning from a cognitive behavioural perspective will be presented, as well as systematic application of the CBT model to specific disorders and mental health problems.
