This course focuses on the clinical research context for interpersonal transactions. Students will enhance their interpersonal communication skills by developing active listening, presentation and interviewing skills. Understanding of personal effectiveness, organizational dynamics and conflict resolution strategies will assist students in developing skills for collaborative problem solving approaches in professional relationships. Self-assessment and feedback will be used throughout the course to enhance understanding of personal strengths and weaknesses and to help the student set personal goals. The overall purpose of the course is to help students develop the people skills they need to be effective clinical research professionals.
