Course Description

Encounter with Latin America will undertake an exploration and discovery of the geography, history, peoples and cultures of Spanish America surveying economic, political, social, religious and artistic elements that shape significantly its fascinating complexity and attractiveness. It will also provide a good foundation about the motivations that lead different types of tourists to choose it as their favourite destination, whether they are after the sun, eco-tourism, cultural exploration and learning, socially engaged experiences through volunteer work, or language training. The participants will also learn Spanish at a beginner's level, receiving a useful kit of survival tools for interpersonal communication, as well as the basic steps of merengue and salsa dancing.
