Students select, use test procedures and prepare the cable for various types of environments, and install fibre-optic or copper cables as a backbone in an outside plant including labeling and dressing to the termination points. Students also prepare, terminate and splice optical-fibre and copper cables in an outside plant. The course includes planning and install grounding, bonding, and protection systems in an outside plant. Proper aerial and underground pathway installation are determined.
