This online course enables students to design, price and package international travel itineraries that will satisfy the diverse needs of Canadian and international vacationers. Different types of tour operators and wholesalers will be compared and selected for practical case studies. Customized travel will be examined from both the wholesale and retail perspective. Students will identify and discuss the functions of International Destination Management Companies and their role in developing customized itineraries. The impact of fluctuating currency exchange rates on tour prices and methods of protecting pricing structures against currency fluctuation will be analyzed. Students will develop their research skills and will design and price complex tour itineraries using Microsoft Excel.
