Digital signal processing has brought about many new possibilities that are virtually impossible to realize with conventional analog circuitry and thus has become a fundamental building block in today's modern instrumentation, communication and control systems. This course studies signal sampling and quantization, aliasing, discrete time systems, Fourier series and transforms, z-transforms, digital filters, convolution, correlation and DSP hardware architectures. Typical applications of DSP in speech, music, instrumentation and wireless communications will be explored.
