The supervised direct patient contact clinical practice prepares students to make the transition from classroom learning to clinical application. The emphasis of this first spring-term clinical practice is on TCM diagnosis and herbal medicine. Students will learn to apply knowledge of TCM theory and herbology foundations in supervised clinical practice settings. With direct patient contact, students will develop caring, compassionate and respectful relationships, assess patient and develop herbal medicine treatment plans in a safe and competent manner. Students will be trained to act in a professional and ethical manner and use communication, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills in everyday practice.
