Course Description

Students are introduced to the concepts of microeconomics: the ideas of how society and individuals use limited resources to meet their needs. They develop an understanding of current events in the context of microeconomic theories including supply, demand, prices, incomes, markets, competition and market structures. Students examine the concepts of market failure and market power and the need for government intervention to achieve social and political goals.
