This course introduces students to AC circuits. The effects of inductance and capacitance on single-phase AC circuits, the effect of the R/C/L component on power factor and power factor correction will be covered. Basic magnetic circuits, the laws of magnetism with emphasis on their applications to electromechanical circuits and single-phase AC circuits and transformers. DC and AC motor/generator principles, characteristics and applications will be introduced.
