Course Description

This course is designed to introduce the student to electronic circuits and devices that are commonly found in the electrical field. An introduction to semiconductors including the diode family, thyristors, and op-amps. The course is delivered in a lab/lecture format. DC power supplies including half and full wave rectifiers, capacitive filtering, load voltage regulation, and the characteristics and applications of SCRs, TRIACs, and DIACs will be presented. The operating characteristics and applications of op-amps will also be examined.
