Course Description
An introduction to variable air volume (VAV) systems presently employed in commercial office buildings. Students will work on VAV systems using powered, pneumatic, electric and electronic control systems. Students will draw on previously acquired knowledge of psychrometrics, electricity, air handling and refrigeration as they investigate the operation of these systems. Each lab will be followed by the submission of a detailed report using computer-based software. This course forms an introduction to the study of VAV systems and is a prerequisite for EMAN 651 Advanced Building Systems 2.
