In this course, students are introduced to a number of ethical issues relating to the bereavement sector. Students examine two fundamental questions from several perspectives: "How do we best care for the dead?" and "How do we best care for the living?"

This course focuses on How do we operate in an ethically and morally responsible manner when dealing with the vulnerabilities of the bereaved? Students are exposed to classic and contemporary ethics literature after they have studied what constitutes critical thought process. They are challenged to reflect on their own values and beliefs, and through discussion, to explore those held by others.
