Course Description
This survey course introduces promotion strategies and techniques used in fashion. It examines components of the promotion mix including advertising media, direct marketing, sales promotion, publicity, public relations and special events. While current methods used in fashion promotion are, in some ways, similar to those used in past decades, social changes and technological advances have spawned the growth of exciting new practices. Discussion and evaluation of these tools will also include their social, ethical, and legal implications.
