Course Description

The 10-week theory portion of this course will introduce the student to the television production team, tools and set up - both in the field (ENG/EFP) and in the studio. Students will learn the entire television process: crews, studio facilities, technical formats, TV camera operation and esthetics, lighting, switching, VTR, editing - both linear and digital, audio, scenery and props, directing, field producing, remotes management and studio producing.

Students will be exposed to guest lecturers with over 40 years experience between them in all areas of studio production and field production. Students will have the opportunity to hear first hand how the theories they've studied are practiced today in working environments.

In the five-week practical portion of this course students will employ the theories they've just learned in a hands-on in-studio environment. Students will produce, through a variety of crew positions, small news cast productions
