Fundraising Trends, Research and Advocacy

Complex trends influence fundraising and volunteerism in Canada. In this course, students explore the impact of the economy, technology, societal changes, legislation and inter-governmental affairs on the sector. Students also discover how Canadian charities and non-profit groups can and cannot advocate for legal reforms and policy changes.Students develop research on trends in the sector. Special attention will be devoted to the challenge of developing standards for costs and results in fundraising.
