This course will focus on the processes involved in serving a client or family from the point of initial contact. We will discuss everything from the legal authority when taking direction to the legal requirements when disposing of human remains. Etiquettes and multicultural sensitivities as they relate to funeral service will be examined. Students will discuss the multitude of options available with respect to funeral-related merchandise and memorialization, as well as the various agencies that offer funding assistance when a death occurs and the estate responsibilities of next of kin following a death.
