Course Description
This course introduces students to the philosophical and historical foundations of the social sciences. Through class discussions, lectures, and readings, students will be encouraged to question and analyze the taken for granted elements basic to the development of the social sciences. The thesis of the course is that social science is only one of many ways of making sense of our experience and that this sense-making exercise must be based upon understanding and integrating the theories in all of the social sciences.
