This course is designed to teach the skills required to plan and instruct group exercise in a variety of settings and formats. Topics covered include use of music, choreography, cueing, class formats, monitoring and progression techniques, and successful instruction of groups. Students gain skills in the instruction of group strength training, stability ball and BOSU, flexibility training, and cardiovascular group exercise. Students learn by participating in a variety of sessions and also by leading sessions themselves. Students are evaluated by their peers as well as their instructor.
