This course continues to develop the skills required to plan and instruct a greater variety of group exercise classes. Group exercise is an integral part of the fitness industry. Hence, the ability to teach group exercise is a fundamental skill for a fitness and health promotion graduate. The emphasis of this course is the continued development and refining of skills, acquired in FITM152, necessary to plan and instruct a group exercise class. Additionally, students gain competencies in the instruction of step training and stability ball. Students participate in kickboxing fitness, BOSU, yoga and Pilates classes.
