This course will introduce you to the operation and management of the rooms division of a hotel. The major focus of the course is the guest cycle, the interrelationship of the guest and the key departments of the division - the front office, housekeeping, maintenance and uniformed services. It will provide the student with the opportunity to gain insight into the role and function of the specific departments and its key positions. This course will also explore the concept and practice of operational standards, staffing, products and services. The course will discuss the make-up and performance of the lodging sector and will train the student on the use of a hotel property management system.
