Hospitality Accounting

Course Description

The key to success in the hospitality industry is profitability. The course begins with a review of basic concepts in mathematics in order to support the numeracy skills that will be needed by the students to be successful in the program. Students will then be presented with common accounting rules and the fundamentals of bookkeeping and accounting, which will assist them in understanding financial statements used within the hospitality industry. The resulting financial information will be used to analyze hospitality operations forming the basis of the managerial decision-making process commonly used in the hospitality industry.
