Independent Study

This course enables students to apply and integrate their skills and knowledge in the creation of an independent study project in an area of interest within the sector.Students will select a study focus and identify their personal learning objectives. A review of basic research methods in socialservices will assist students in critically reviewing published works. Students will undertake a comprehensive literature review to create an annotated bibliography. Within their selected area of study, students will identify ethical,legal and social policy issues that impact on the delivery of social services. Each student will create a final product that identifies major learning to present to their peers.
