The industry internship course is a capstone component of the Tourism Management-Travel Industry Services program. The internship consists of a 7-week training placement, at an approved Tourism partner and is based on a 32-hour training week (total 224 hours). Students have the support of our internship coordinator and are able to apply to a variety of retail and wholesale positions offered by Tourism and Travel industry partners. They also have the opportunity to self-identify an employer for an approved internship. The Tourism Management - Travel Industry Services Internship will present the student with the opportunity to train in a broad range of leading travel agencies, tour operators, consolidators and tourist boards.
Internships differ due to the type of company and offer students hands-on practical and experiential learning experience working both individually and collaboratively in a real workplace environment. The internship encourages students to apply skills and implement knowledge learned in the classroom and to meet the needs of the current workplace and provides the opportunity for the mentorship an industry professional. Employers seek Humber students and offer jobs to graduates of the program.
