Course Code

Academic Year

2016-2017

Beginning with conception and concluding at school age, this course examines the development of infants and children through a holistic lens. Aspects of physical, cognitive and socio-emotional development are considered through an ecological or systems perspective and as applied to child and youth worker practice. Special attention is paid to developmental issues such as aggression and attachment. Students participate in a virtual baby simulation - enabling them to better apply aspects of child development to lived experience.
