This course introduces students to the structural and organizational components of the international tourism industry with particular reference to Canada in that context. The course looks at the evolution of tourism in Canada, the development of Canada as a tourism destination, the role of public and private sector organizations, their inter-relationships, and the fundamentals of managing these organizations. Students will identify career opportunities and develop strategies to pursue these opportunities within the tourism industry.
