Unique to Humber's Tourism Management program is the opportunity to study abroad and earn program course credits. Each year the program and school will offer a two week study abroad experiential program in an international destination. The destination and program offered are designed annually and the experiential trip is usually in May. During the semester, students explore the history, politics, culture, and environment of the countries being visited. Students have the opportunity to engage in adventure, eco, cultural and community outreach programs with a key focus on a "volunteerism" experience. By touring destinations and attractions, students apply skills in professional conduct and assess and evaluate tourism services, trends and tourism development opportunities. There is the opportunity to apply this course credit to a global citizenship certificate offered by Humber. Program costs are defined annually in advance of the elective.
