Broadcast Equipment and Techniques

Course Description

This course introduces students to all the fundamental tools they will need to do their work in broadcasting. Students will be introduced to an extensive range of basic studio equipment including microphones, recording devices, and video camera equipment. As well, students will learn how to properly record interviews, and how to use lighting. The course will also feature the basics of effective videography - how to shoot visuals to illustrate a news story, how to edit video, and how to understand and use a range of digital equipment in a TV and radio control-room setting.
