This course introduces the fundamental ideas of modern labour economics. It presents the tools of economics as applied to the study of labour demand, labour supply, wage and employment determination, compensation, human capital theory, immigration, unions, and unemployment. Particular emphasis is placed on the Canadian labour market and its institutions.
