Course Description

This course is designed to give the first semester Law Clerk student an introduction to legal terminology and an overview of various dynamics in a workplace situation specifically related to a legal environment. While the course will explore various aspects of workplace conduct, such as communication techniques in person, by telephone and other methods, group dynamics and time management, it will focus principally on the Rules of Professional Conduct published by The Law Society of Upper Canada. The course will also provide opportunities to deal with practical situations in a law office setting. Speaking, listening, problem-solving and decision-making skills will be highlighted throughout the course.
